Cottage Creation

This month over at Whimsy Stamps a beautiful New set of Birdhouse Cottages were released by Moon Cookie Gallery Digital Collection - illustrated by Natalie Michalski ! With 12 cottages in all you will be sure to find one that fits you!! I had an extremely hard time just picking one to work with so I ended up using 4 different cottages to make up my canvas piece. I chose:
-Cute Cottage
-Dainty Cottage
-Garden Cottage
-Quirky Cottage

I started off with a 12 x 12'' blank canvas piece that I picked up at Micheal's last week at 60% off! Yay for awesome sales! I then re-sized the cottage images to around 4'' wide.

I then picked out my colors and shaded in the cottages using my copic markers. After I was done shading I stitched a border around each image using my sewing machine and a classic stitch. I also did a zig zag stitch around the background border.

After I was done with the Stitching I picked out a sentiment for the middle of the canvas along with some extra buttons I had laying around. The sentiment I chose is by Ann Vento and is also available at Whimsy Stamps!

The last element I added were some felt flowers in the bottom left hand corner. I made them cutting nesting circles out of felt. I added some paper leaves that I also picked up at Michael's and some button centers.

Thanks for looking and check back soon with some brand NEW Whimsy images!

Hello everyone! I have totally gotten bit my the fall bug this week. The weather here has really started to cool down and I'm anxious to start getting those fall decorations out! I picked up this adorable little pumpkin image from the NEW Meljen's website! It's called the Country Star Pumpkin.

I added some flower embellishments that I made using felt, prima leaves, pearls, and ribbon!

There is also a great challenge going on this week at Meljen's Challenge Blog!

The challenge is Paper Piercing.

Using my sewing machine I stitched a border around the outside of my card. Thanks for looking!

Meet The Divas Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!! My name is Kindra and I'm super excited about joining the Whimsie Doodles Team! We have a fantastic blog hop going on today and I hope you will take the time to visit everyone's blogs! For a complete list of today's blog rotation visit Whimsie Doodles! Here is a little about me!

5 Doodlelicious Things About Me

1. My first paper craft project was a scrapbook I made the year after I graduated High School that I filled with all of my favorite HS memories. I had a great time putting it together and I've been hooked on papercrafting every since!

2.When I'm not papercrafting, I enjoy... Well... I'm a full time working Single mom to 2 small children so my free time is VERY limited!! But when I'm not crafting I love to spend time with my kids (ages 7 and almost 2) travel, fish, read, and visit with friends. My kids are the very best part of my life and I love finding something new and exciting each day to be thankful for.

3. It's so hard to pick a favorite, but right now my favorite Whimsie Doodles image to create with is Frankie! I absolutely love crafting for Halloween and this little guy is just so stinking cute! He kinda reminds me of a vampire Frankenstein! lol

4. My favorite papercrafting technique would have to be... using my sewing machine!! I use my machine somehow on almost every project I create! I love experimenting with all of the different options and adding stitching to all of my projects!

5. My favorite embellishments to use are flowers! I started making flowers about 4 years ago and sold them online for a number of years. I have made over a thousand (yes you heard me right) over the years and somehow I just never get sick of them!

So now that you know a little bit about me... let me share some of my work!! The following projects were made using... you guess it...FRANKIE!

For this project I started by picking up a little unfinished wood coffin box. Only cost me $1.99 at Michaels! The I painted the outside black and using mod podge I attached all of my embellishments to the outside of the box. And be proud of me because I didn't even use any flowers! ;) I colored Frankie using my copic markers and attached him to the box using 3D foam squares. I'm still a beginner using copics but I'm trying to learn!

The second project I made using Frankie is just a basic Halloween card. I layered my background papers and sewed them together using just a basic stitch. The I just layered on some Halloween embellishments and popped Frankie on using some more 3D foam! Quick and simple and I think he turned out well!

Alright... Alright... Enough about me!! It's time for you to move on and meet the rest of the Doodlelicious Divas! Don't forget to visit the Whimsie Blog at the very end and leave a comment! You could be the winner of one of the fantastic New release September images!!!

Next stop is: Laura!

Love of Pets

Hey everyone! It's time again for another fun Challenge at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge blog! The winner receives a FREE $15.00 gift certificate to the Whimsy store! Definitely worth playing along for!
Our Topic this week is

Love of Pets

Anything Pet Related and please add a sentiment

For this card I used the Whatzup Dog stamp by Chrissy Armstrong. Using my photo editing program I added the smaller dog by mirroring the large dog and removing the bone. After removing the bone with the eraser tool I just reshaped the mouth a bit! I love being able to use the same image twice on the same project but in different ways!

For the sentiment I used the Animal Companions Sentiments by Ann Vento which is brand NEW this month! For the sentiment I also cropped out a little dog image as well.
To purchase these stamps just click on the stamp name or visit Whimsy Stamps by clicking HERE!

Thanks everyone for taking a peek and be sure to join the Whimsy Challenge this week! To add your very own pet creation visit the Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog!
